Smart. Cynical. Loves to Dance. The last several years have been kinda crowded so it's been awhile since I attempted an intimate relationship, or any relationship, actually. Making friends is not my forté. Unless you're a sociopath. Sociopaths seem drawn to me and I to them, with the inevitable ugly consequences. Don't go there.
I don't intend to, ever again.
Desirable qualities in friends, then, include the inability to pass the "Psychopathy Checklist" (R. D. Hare), respect for self and others, a low bullsh*t threshold (to be distinguished from the poetic license accorded a raconteur), the ability to hold up your end of an interesting conversation over several glasses of iced tea, wine, moonshine, or other beverage of choice, spaciousness of mind and generosity of spirit, and the ability to at least feign an interest in someone besides yourself.
I read a lot, mostly fiction. I remember when JFK was shot. I love Padre Island, dancing, thunderstorms, and iced tea.
Currently, I live in a very small town and I'm working on changing that. If you're in an area that you think highly of, take a minute and tell me about it. And anything else that's on your mind. Life just might become very interesting for both of us. You never know.
