hi everyone, my name is Archie and I'm an aspiring academic historian with a niche interest in medieval and Renaissance Europe, dynastic China (tang to Ming), Gupta and Mughal India, Sikh confederacy of the Punjab the scientific revolution, enlightenment, and age of exploration, and kamakura and tokagawa Japan and the Cold War. Additionally I am an adamant language learning currently attempting to master mandarin, Hindi/Urdu German and Italian while also dabbling in Japanese and Russian while perfecting my Spanish. In addition to my two aforementioned passions I also dabble in philosophy (particularly enlightenment era philosophers and Marx), psychology (humanist, educational, social, and abnormal), economics, international relations (constructivist approach), linguistics, comparative religions, anthropology, sociology and gender studies. Although I am not terribly proficient in mathematics I am looking to at least master the rudimentary subjects so some assistance in this area would be greatly appreciated. My goal is to master calculus before I die. I also like to cook. My favorites cuisines are Indian (paneer dishes are my weakness) Italian, Thai, Chinese and Japanese. Now I am super into making tsukemono. I'm not a terribly physical person but I do enjoy going to the gym and exploring the weight machines. I'm trying to loose weight so athletics is an important part of that equation I guess.

I'm looking to establish a close-knit group of online and personal friends who will challenge and help me expand my horizons intellectually. I'm hopping that we can support each other in our intellectual pursuits, professional goals and personal endeavors. Metaphorically I want to be part of a community where a thousand flowers bloom and thrive. Also I am not looking for a h--k-p so no unwanted advances please.
