Having overducated myself into social inutility (English/history BA, art history minor, MFA in fiction), I keep doing it as an autodidact, gobbling up the things I missed along the way (like Latin and physics) and the stuff I think is just too cool not to learn about--I'm horrified to think about the things I might be missing at this moment! I've been known to do research for fun, and not just online--in dusty libraries using microfiche.
