I've been called philosopher, poet, old soul, insightful & observant, and gentle & kind. I find a sense of wonder in exploring the depths of life and the human psyche. While I'm not opposed to exploring the world, I find more meaning in the inner journey than the outer. To me, the mundane trappings of life are secondary considerations.

Despite my resistance, life has managed to teach me some measure of humility and despite my ambitions, it has managed to teach me some degree of contentment. You could say I'm a complex person living a fairly simple life. I value the simple pleasures in life. I can be fascinated and amused by the smallest of things. Life is motion, and sometimes, you've got to sit still long enough to actually see the motion going on around you.

There are few things I find more delightful than unintentional irony. And there are few things I find more beautiful than the human heart exposed in its most naked form, whether that be an expression of joy, agony or anywhere else on the emotional spectrum. It's like a song that touches you or a photograph or painting that captivates your attention and compels you to reflect on the circumstances it portrays. Given a choice, I'd rather be moved than entertained. I have my guilty pleasures, like anyone, though I still often manage to find something meaningful even in the most mundane circumstances.

What I'm looking for is a partner and an equal; someone to share the journey with; someone interested in sharing our unique individual insights with one another; someone who will both challenge and support me and expect the same in return - two people working together toward common and individual goals; someone who values and practices the seductive power of intelligence instead of childish teasing flirtations; and someone who is able to introduce me to things and perspectives I haven't discovered on my own and appreciate the same from me.
