I am a professional woman and student. My 3 adult children are all healthy, happy and contributing to the world. Interests include: reading on a range of topics:Scientific American, neuropsychology, human development, biography, history, early humans, art, prehistory, and everything that might be described as life long learning. Nature is a great healer and I am outside as much as possible, walking, hiking, biking, jogging, gardening, and canoeing. Classical music, and sometimes folk are my music choices. I get to concerts, dance and theatre as much as possible. A lifelong interest in fitness and nutrition has given me excellent health (although I must add that genetics has undoubtedly played a part!) I am grateful for having wonderful and supportive friends, who have been guides & mentors to me over the years, and am happy that many of these friendships have deepened and ripened over decades. Friends and family tell me I am patient, a good listener, an interesting person, caring, dedicated, loyal, energetic and hard-working.(Sounds good! I hope it's true!)Some people think I am funny, but sense of humour is such a personal thing, of course. A little 9 lb dog is my only living companion. My wonderful family is a great treasure and I enjoy spending time with them. However, I would like to meet a gentleman who can be an intellectual as well as an emotional companion, and who shares some of my values of loyalty, community contribution, integrity, caring, the excitement and pleasure of learning, dedication to family, curiosity about the world, and good conversation with stimulating exchange of ideas. He might not have materialistic goals and values, and perhaps may not have formal education, as there are other routes to knowledge and wisdom. He may be a life long learner, and be engaged in something through which he can continue to grow and develop. He may be able to challenge and stimulate my thinking, and help me continue to grow and learn.
