I have joined a couple of dating sites, and SO few people on these even mention their intellectual side---maybe they just don't have one. I am hoping to find someone who treasures thought and knowledge. Someone who doesn't look blankly at me if I mention the names Merkel, Berlusconi, or Kim Jong-Il. Someone who likes to read the New York Times, or The Economist. Someone who loves to share knowledge, and can discuss more than the weather or the last Seahawk's score. (Not that I hate sports, but they seem to consume too many people.) Someone who finds their career intellectually stimulating, and likes to talk about it.
That said, I like to have balance in my life. Beyond work and a passion for intellect, I love to travel, hike, canoe or kayak (any kind of boating), cook, mushroom hunt, go clamming, try new things.
Someone with intellect, a good sense of humor, and balance in their lives is what I find most appealing.
A little more about myself: I am a registered nurse, working towards my master's degree in health care ethics. I have three (usually) wonderful kids, 24yr old son, 17 yr old daughter, and 10 yr old daughter. I currently live in Tacoma, but I am considering a move to Seattle after my daughter graduates next year. One other hobby I forgot to mention is painting-oils, acrylic. For me, it is as much a therapeutic outlet as it is a creative one...and cheaper than counseling, too (I think!)
