Simply put, I am too shy to do this conventionally -like walking up to someone in the bookshop or at the park. I guess I don’t do that because I don’t want to offend or embarrass anyone–least of all myself! I would like to meet someone earnest and sincerely interested in discovering another individual–this is how I would describe myself too. I am wonderfully physical and se---lly adventurous ...but now that I find myself single and alone, it is not that that I yearn for so much, as for conversation and compassion and the luxury of having someone who recognises you, knows you, without judging you. I think life is short and I want to do as much as possible -so I’m busy and active and interested in whatever is out there...I have 2 children who I love dearly and who are beautiful people. I love culture-visual art in particular. Artists I am thinking about at the moment: Louise Bourgeois;William Kentridge;Kiki Smith;Kara Walker...I am curious. I love music -lots of enthusiasm for World Music, Jazz,Dubb and other individual and unusual takes on the art of sound. My musical interests include: Mozart;Yousso N’do;340ml;Ricki Lee Jones;Bob Marley;Regina Carter;Cassandra Wilson;Busi Mhlongo;Oregon. I like being outdoors, walking the city or hills + mountains... birds; trees; plants; rocks... Some of my best experiences have been hiking different parts of the world. I love travelling-exploring other cultures. I love film-some that I can recall right now: The Remains of the day; Being John Malcovich; The Truman Show; Delicatessen... I am independent and strong, but I am lonely. I want a companion who is self-confident enough to be interested in the world beyond, open-minded+ adventurous. I would like to meet someone less interested in stereotypes and generalisations, and more in firsthand knowledge and alternative angles. I am actively non-violent with a deep mistrust of guns. I love making art, cooking, reading, wine, gardening, walking everyday and watching good movies.
