Introversion begets solitude, and with it a longing for companionship more profound than what socially adept members of the human species may know. I enjoy my friends and appreciate my family, but my romantic endeavors have hardly been fruitful. I have been single for most of my life - admittedly having a few awkward adolescent relationships I now refer to as "social experiments" - but only because I could never find an intellectually attractive person. While there are plenty of pretty people out there, how many display cognitive competence and artful awe? I prefer loneliness over selling out for a mediocre relationship, yet I so fervently wish to find someone who can adequately compliment my intelligent quirkiness!

At the very least I would like to make genuine connections with intelligent people, even if romance doesn't result. Although I am reserved and somewhat anti-social, I do love meeting people who have the spark of awareness in their eyes. Philosophy, science, and art are always topics of interest to me. Actually, I'll discus anything at all if the discourse is mentally and soulfully stimulating. I will do my best to approach others, but I hope others take the initiative as well.

Honestly, I feel somewhat anxious about actively seeking companionship online. I have tried other sites before with discouraging results. Maybe networks meant for intellectuals will prove to be more worthwhile.
