I'm a 56-year-old college history professor; salt and pepper (actually brown and gray) hair, 6'2" tall, about 200lbs though I've put on a few more pounds over winter, hazel eyes behind round framed glasses and occasionally contacts. I'm not an Adonis, but am reasonably fit and enjoy various physical activities. (I still run a couple of miles, though not as often as I should.)
As a college prof, I am passionate about knowledge and teaching. At the moment I am reading Brian Greene's Fabric of the Cosmos, a biography of Bismarck, Lama Surya Das' Buddha is as Buddha Does, and rereading Mitchner's The Source. Also, I am often researching and writing my next article.

I've been divorced for six years and have two teenage children living with their mother in PA, but don't get to see them as often as I'd like.

I haven't dated much since my divorce, but with someone who is right for me and me for her I can enjoy myself in almost any activity, from quiet intimate dinners for two to a crowded theater watching a play or concert.

I play classical guitar, but enjoy listening to different genres depending on my mood the activities in which I'm engaged.

Sometimes I think I might like to remarry, but for the moment I simply desire someone to smell the roses with me. I am certainly not always joyful, but have special moments when the little beauties of life remind me of my good fortune.

All in all, I think of myself as being pretty much like every other human being; full of contradictions and continuities.
