Multifoliate, 39

I'm characterized by intense broad intellectual curiousity. At various times in my life I've been interested in philosophy, poetry, psychology, sociology, literature, music, chemistry, physics and education. My main focus these days is mathematics and algebraic number theory in particular. I'm attracted to the rich structures that are present in mathematics and derive great satisfaction when the pieces coalesce in my mind.

I really enjoy classical music by Bach and from the romantic period. I especially relate to the intense focus present in Beethoven and Brahms' music but enjoy pieces by Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, etc.

Something that's important to me in life is to do something of lasting value to other people, whether it be charitable in nature or an intellectual contribution. I don't believe in going through the day to day motions of life without some sort of higher calling - I feel that there's too much at stake - too much pain and beauty in the world.

I am skeptical of organized religion and believe in the indifference of the universe toward human concerns, but I have had meditative moments of great internal calm with a spiritual character and would very much like to have them with greater frequency.

It's rare for me to find women (or men for that matter) who share my tastes and values. If I sound like somebody who you would like to know more about I welcome contact (I guess that is why I'm posting here after all).
