Today's philosophy has broken with its task of understanding the totality and devolved into a series of loosely connected specializations. The antipathy to the approach of the salient and traditional mode of philosophy which is everywhere embedded in the academic approach to it has served to create a climate in which original thinking is stifled.
*nalytic, continental or purely religious iterations of philosophy undermine the ability for philosophy to become actual on its own.
The future of philosophy must be wrought out of a return, a re-appropration of the philosophical heritage, especially a return to the totality as embodied in the function, if not the reality of, the classical conception of a God, as well as the return to the justification of beings through an essence (and not through a temporal construction, etc.), yet do this without surrendering the individuality of the self, nor the this-worldly character of our being.
