I'm a devout atheist and like to concentrate on the objective and the rational. In other words, I find mysticism, alternative (i.e. untested) medicines, astrology and other exotica as worse than immaterial.

Having sounded very offish, I would also add that I am friendly, helpful and can often be funny. For what it's worth - and it's generally not worth money - I have four degrees (none of them doctorates). Although I'm getting on a bit, I would still like to have children; that is important to me.

Returning to offishness, I don't want to meet people with religious views or new age/pagan preoccupations. Although I am tolerant in many ways, the intellectual difference eventually kicks in. Another thing: although this may appear a paradox, I am not materialist in the acquisitional way. Making money is not important to me. Buying lots of things doesn't attract me.

I do enjoy reading, and chess. In company, I enjoy some tv and cinema - although selective - and theatre now and again. Anyway, if I haven't put you off, make contact and we'll see...
