removeglasses People sometimes flock to me for my literary and philosophical intelligence and knowledge, but I am socially shy and after intellectual conversations, I feel a dissatisfaction. When I teach, I can fill the room with transformational ideas and a challenging but friendly energy (so I am told), but after the last lingering student has left, the classroom feels very empty.

So, I'm not here to pursue objective "intellectual" discussions; I'm here to find a person interested in similar things as part of her personal life.

Since I'm "intellectual-looking" and in my (kinda young looking) 40s, I'm pretty sure I don't appeal to the usual beach combing, club-going, cougar-cub prowling sort. I'm also not a rock climber, windsurfer, or sports fan.

But I am very busy professionally, and I am not looking to devote all my time to dating. I'm looking for someone busy like myself who would like to have a friend to fill up such moments as those described above.

I like books, art, film, and music that entertain my mind, and that's about the only boundary for my taste. French films of the New Wave and after usually make me want to meet someone new and exciting. The most recent film I liked was The Last Mistress. The last album I listened to for the first time and liked was Patti Smith's Horses. The last book I read, partly re-read, and am still reading very, very closely is the Complete Works of William Shakespeare. I'm sure I'll be reading a lot of other things more contemporary before I finish that.
