I am an historian and archivist, former chef and musician. I collect central asian embroidery and enjoy oriental carpets and Islamic design.

I do not feel I have chosen an intellectual path, but rather that it has chosen me.
But snobbery does nothing for me, it is connecting with others that is the biggest reward.
I find thats everyone has a passion and thoughts on some subject, and most are willing to talk about it.
Intelligence begins with socratic ignorance, and the true joy of learning
is the sharing of the experience with others--both during the learning and imparting it to those who might learn also.
I am a food explorer, and worship at the altar of ethnic food at least twice every weekend.
Would love to meet like minded and kindred spirits.
I try not take anything too seriously.
