In search of good company My interests vary rather widely. I love traveling. Domestically I have done a fair share, having been to around 41 of the states and halfish of the Canadian provinces. Internationally I am woefully under-traveled, having never jumped either pond. Oh but there is much time to rectify that! I love traveling unexpectedly and just making it happen, finding myself anyplace from a top drawer hotel in San Francisco, to a stranger's basement in Greybull Wyoming who picked me up on the side of the road. More so, I enjoy being embedded in the local culture, almost on a case study type basis. I'd rather be deeply/semi-deeply immersed in one community member's quarters/life, rather than visit all the touristy bs which are only occasionally interesting. People are ALWAYS interesting.

Travel aside, I enjoy learning in general, but that's sort of an ambiguous statement. I enjoy reading and asking questions. I love questions - I could ask questions and listen to answers all day. I could read until my death overtook my life. Sometimes I think there just isn't enough life to go around, and I nearly overwhelm myself trying to decide how to best use my time, where to go, what to do... does that ever happen to you? This is less a problem than it once was I suppose. Alas, I digress. Entertainment to me is just about anything aside from television, save a few select shows on Hulu. Why watch TV when you can learn more about the people you are sitting around with, or be out living it up, or learning something useful? "He lives vicariously--through himself." I recently realized that I don't create anything, and I'd really like to get into creation. Physically, intellectually, imaginarily (--done!), fleeting moments in time - you name it, let's create it. Now.
