The bad news: I think I am in the midst of a late midlife crisis or perhaps male menopause as I just can’t get it all back together since my divorce last year, and I am even re-evaluating who I am.The good news: Before this calamity reduced me to being a recluse, I remember being a happy-go-lucky guy cut from the classic “scholar and a gentleman /absent-minded professor” mold -- but with a definite bohemian intellectual and radical activist twist that made every day of my life crazy and adventurous. I'm eccentric -- a bibliophile, a vegetarian, a Sufi, a walking encyclopedia” -- but was very DTE with a great SOH. I trust that that fun guy is still lurking around waiting to come out and play again once we get past this late life crisis.

Who am I looking to meet? Honestly I don’t know anymore. Once upon a time I had a pat answer for that: my ideal female was a fortyish, attractive spiritual, unconventional dreadlocked, Afrocentric artist with canvas, easel, palette and paint brush in hand. Never found her –so I assume that either she’s a non-existent figment of my imagination or that professors aren't her cup o'tea and she’s searching for a thirtyish jazz, hiphop or neo-soul musician. I still prefer “sistas,” but other than that I am open for surprises. On the side (don’t worry I won’t quit my day job) this Capricorn (Pisces Rising/Moon in Leo) is experimenting with his first novel and plays with collage in a make-shift art studio in his book-lined brownstone. Love museums, combing the shelves of used bookstores, vegetarian and African cuisine restaurants, cinema houses; do not like so-called “romantic walks in the rain” or other inclement weather, and I couldn’t give a hoot about what team is going to make it to the Super Bowl.
