An articulate, well rounded woman who can clearly express her thoughts and values works for me.

`It is, definitely. Especially in Platonic sort of relationships I'm more and more interested in. Greeting.

`As the individual whom's usually significantly more intellectual than the other, I find it to be more of a deterrent. It's very convenient when problems need to be solved, or complex issues simplified...then I'm a great fiend to have. But nobody likes to be wrong, especially when it involves their character. The more intelligent you are the more likely you're going to be right...and it's annoying. It can be down right infuriating. Understandable.

Then I have the tendency to develop ideas to a level of complexity most people aren't able to handle. I don't do it on purpose, it's natural for me but it can make the conversation very uncomfortable for the other person especially if they're male. Men tend to compete and intelligence is no exception. Throw in a 5 syllable word and now I'm threatening. At least I know how to talk simply.

Also, I'm boring. No one wants to talk about the things that interest me. 6 years in college I've met hundreds of people and I still haven't found anyone who wants to talk about anything other than pop culture? Seriously? No ones on the forums, only one woman in the entire state of Oregon has been on this site within 2 weeks, and there's maybe only 3 other sites dedicated to "intellectual" dating and they're all dead. And look, I just wrote 3 paragraphs when my answer could have consisted of a single word "No." I didn't even manage to make anyone laugh in this too long of a response. Like I said, boring.

It's alright, the more I realize how obnoxious I am the easier it's becoming to maintain relationships. I just have to learn to keep things as simple as possible.

`Intelligence is most definitely an aphrodisiac.

You have to appreciate my naked soul before appreciating my naked body

(that quote is credited to Charlie Chaplin but who knows if he really said it.)
