Can anyone empathize with the hardcore feminist view that Christmas is the birth of the child of the patriarchal god-raped virgin mary?

Ahhh, don't you love the stimulating conversation from the great intellectual minds !?
Not sure I empathise with the view point that phdeean is talking about.
Mainly because empathy is not required.
This is not even a case for feminism as such, apart from the antagonists supporting the male figurehead.
This is about about Human Rights! Or the lack of it when it comes to the "gods".
The virgin being by a god is not even a new idea that Christians came up with. Zeus is reputed to have heroically Semele, Io, Europa and Leda amongst others, giving birth to those half god half men super saviours.
Ok, it is about womens rights and feminism in as far as the male figurehead is being given justification for his abuse.
But at the end of the day, this is the classic case of the strong oppressing the weak.
The Strong are God to the Weak.
Yet, how can the Weak escape, without being strong too !?
Equally strong (or equally weak) is Equality !

`Very good! By Law Marry was betrothed, and then debouched by God. Or so the story goes. That view has nothiing to do with feminism, that is the spark of an aware mind. However, that mystery is way into the text, there is so much more, after all, the text plainly tells you it is sealed to man's understanding, and in the end, things will be turned upside down. It is a psychological test--from front to back, to demonstrate the effects and certain principles of judgment, when they are not operating, and when they are.

`If the text is so "sealed", then how comes it to be that it is so plainly so !?

`Me? I am still trying to figure out what a sentence fragment is. As for what is written, how, and why Numbers 12:6. suggests you can learn directly from the source, if you can learn, that is. It is called Lucid Dreaming Today--and if you are any good, the lessons last for years--if not a life-time.

`PS. It is also written that someday one person will come along, and teach you about, well, I am sure you have studied the text.

`Hmmm. I get tired of some saying "feminists are this" or "feminists are that." Feminists do not all think alike and cannot be lumped together. But I guess that happens to a lot of groups: "the Irish," "the Italians," etc. The truth is, people don't fit in the stereotypes we make for them.

`You think that God the virgin Mary? Wow!
I wish I could get like that! I mean, by a magical superhuman male of utmost virtuosity who has actually got honourable intentions among his designs on me, and who selects me from all the women in the world. That would be a worthy act upon me. It might feel good too, I could be convinced and seduced.
I think Jesus was a semi-intellectual who modelled himself after famous earlier philosophers like Diogenes and Socrates, and he wanted to introduce reason and moderation into the popular religion of the time.

`We all must have some kind of faith: We need it to survive and get through the days of our lives. Without it we either kill or get killed, or just kill ourselves. We need rules and laws to keep order, and fear to believe in those rules and laws. Without feminist, and GOD, and all of those other distractions like sports, there would be blood in the streets. We all can intellectualize everything to death, but when our time is up, it's funny how many tears are rolling down shivering cheeks pronouncing to all who'll listen, that they should have done more for others and let life be without judgement and accept all with peace because by doing so we'll all have respect for everything that we may come across in life even if we may not agree or chose that path as a belief for a way of life. If you want to be a women who makes a living in a career, and choses to not have children, or wants to have S-- with any partner at anytime, or decides to get a divorce and uproot your children and destroy family life, these are all choices that may have consequences. Just like it would be for a man. Whatever your religious beliefs are, whether you can take it on faith that Mary's immaculate conception gave birth to the son of GOD or not, we all should smile at one another's intellectual property and respect it without harsh criticism. It's one thing to discuss our differences, lest we not listen and discover the little truths that keep us in open positive modes, we would just all lose hope and slowly the fabric of society will disintegrate and all faith will be lost. More people have died for less.

`Isn't it typical of the intellectual to misunderstand and/or ignore the topic being discussed? Kudos to the first former member who, to me, seems to be the only one who managed to add anything significant to this thread. Also, a very interesting tidbit about Zeus I didn't know before.
The patriarchal god-raped virgin mary. That made me chuckle. I've never heard it described this way, kudos to you too for providing a unique thought for consideration. I can certainly empathize though I wouldn't agree and I ponder it's significance.
Patriarchal? Probably for those who know God is male. I've never read the bible, but even so to limit an omnipotent being to gender or any other human condition seems foolish to me.
Rape? Did she sign a consent form? If it was an unwilling conception then maybe, but if she was holy then I assume she lived for God. Giving birth to the savior of mankind is probably far down the list of things she wouldn't do for her faith.
Now that I think about it I can't empathize. It's like when a fat women sues Mcdonalds for scalding coffee. You have to make too many assumptions to accept it as probable. I have to assume she drinks cold coffee. She didn't watch them brew her coffee. She didn't see the steam. She didn't feel the heat through the cup. She's never ate there before, or never ordered a coffee from any other restaurant. She's unfamiliar with our culture and therefore unaware that coffee is served hot and oh so many more.
By the end of the day I make far less assumptions by accepting that she's probably trying to make a quick buck and radical groups are trying to gain attention through extreme thoughts and actions.
